A letter to my kids

Dear Kaylani & Elijah

I first want to start by saying thank you! Thank you for bringing so much joy to my life. Thank you for pushing me to become a stronger and better woman. Thank you for showing me what true love really feels like.

I’m sorry if mommy yells, makes you clean up after yourself, or take a bath when you don’t want to. I’m not sorry for the shower of kisses I give you two daily, for protecting you and wanting the absolute best for you. Mommy might not make the best decisions and you might not understand some of my choices until you have your own family but I did them for you two. So you both can have everything that I wanted and more.

When you guys get older you will have people tell you that you can’t do things that you really love doing, you will endure heartbreaks, friends coming and going, and so much more. I promise that I will be right by your side with a listening ear and words of wisdom. I promise that you two will never feel alone, will always feel loved and have someone to go to for any and everything. No, you might not like somethings I have to say because that’s just what happens but when you make the decisions you want I will be there.

I write you this because not only do I love you more than anything in the world but because there were people that told me I couldn’t do anything after having kids at a young age. There were things that got in the way and things didn’t always go as planned but I will do everything I can to prove everyone wrong and most of all show you both that you can do anything you put your mind to. That my life didn’t end when I had kids but that’s when it started. That yes I might not have gone straight to college after high school and yes it might be harder to do with kids but YES I will do it and graduate not just for me but for you two. Because, we can do anything especially when we have each other!

Sincerely,

MommaBear
